Calvin Kattar Plans To Come Back To UFC With A Memorable Bang!

We all remember Kalvin Kattar’s painfully smashed knee from last year. He got the injury while facing off against Arnold Allen. It took eight seconds to send the fighter in a whirlwind of surgeries and healing to be able to fight again.

But, now he is ready to return and hopes the UFC hasn’t forgotten his wrath! Continue reading to find out what Kattar’s plans are for his return to the octagon.

Kattar expressed his pride in possessing mental toughness but acknowledged that the recent challenge he faced was significant. He mentioned to “Middle Easy” that the recovery process was lengthy and gradual, yet he remained content with any progress, no matter how slow. According to him, the improvement was incremental, with a daily advancement of one percent being sufficient to make him content.

Kattar hasn’t sat on the bench for the first time. After a lopsided decision defeat to Max Holloway in a Fight of the Night attempt in January 2021, the 35-year-old took a year off. He reappeared a year later in another headlining when he destroyed streaking rival Giga Chikadze and intends to make another strong comeback.

He observed that there were some emerging contenders in the featherweight division while acknowledging that the reigning champion, Alexander Volkanovski, continued to assert his dominance at the top. He mentioned that the division had slightly shifted and anticipated further changes by the end of the year. Despite the competition, Kattar emphasized that he should not be overlooked, as he intended to re-enter the mix soon.

When asked about the fighter who impressed him the most during his absence, Kattar pointed out Alexander Volkanovski. He appreciated the champ’s proactive approach and readiness to face any and all challengers. Kattar admired Volkanovski’s demeanor as a champion and commended him for wanting to return to action quickly, even after his upcoming surgery. For Kattar, having someone like Volkanovski in the division with the championship was valuable, as it ensured the division remained active and competitive, with the champion accepting all challenges.

So, what are your predictions for his return to the fighting scene? Will he make a bang or crash and burn immediately? Let us know in the comments!
