Joe Rogan Highly Impressed by Ian Machado Garry

Welcome back to more updates from your favorite combat sports!

Recently one fighter caught commentator Joe Rogan’s eye. And if Rogan thinks this fish is unique in the UFC swarm, it must mean something.

Rogan has been around for over three years, commenting on multiple talents each week. However, he found Ian Machado Garry’s fight skills worth mentioning. So, who is this new guy on the block, and what’s his claim to fame? Continue reading to find out.

Garry is a rising welterweight who has dominated the octagon with five straight victories.
Early in his UFC career, he faced criticism from many for trying to imitate fellow Irishman Conor McGregor. However, his work in the ring is now attracting traction of its own. It happened when Garry knocked out Daniel Rodriguez in the first round at UFC on ABC 4.

Rogan was highly interested in the bout, even though he wasn’t doing the commentary. He believes the promotion has a valuable talent on its hands based on what he has seen so far of Garry.

Rogan exclusively mentioned the rising star’s qualities recently. He went on his official podcast, called “The Joe Rogan Experience,” to discuss Garry and his moves inside the octagon. He said Garry is undefeated. However, he doesn’t just have the muscle but also the brain, showcased in his intelligence and confidence.

Rogan then discussed Garry’s victory over opponent Daniel Rodriguez. He added that Garry had performed outstandingly in his last fight with Rodriguez. He also brought attention to the fact that Garry was the first fighter to use his strikes against Rodriguez and stop him.
And we can’t deny that this is a big deal. He added, “Whatever ‘it’ is, he’s got it.” In addition, Rogan predicted that Garry was on his way up.

So, we can soon see him among the big names like Sterling, McGregor, and Pereira if he keeps delivering like this. And Rogan isn’t the only one who has taken note of Garry’s performance. UFC president Dana White has also noticed him inside the octagon.

He talked about it in a post-fight conference. He started off by mentioning his spectacular form considering his opponent was durable and dangerous. White also mentioned these promising matches were the reason behind creating such cards. White agreed with Rogan on Garry’s confidence in the octagon. He added that Garry was ready to take over the world. Additionally, Dana White had a talk with the rising welterweight. He said that Garry is down for any type of fight anywhere. He also called him a fun guy.

But he isn’t just fun he is highly ambitious. Gary told Dana he wanted to beat UFC’s top five and ten fighters. Ultimately, Dana said he would take the young fighter to Boston or MSG. Also, eventually, he might go to Ireland if he keeps doing what he’s doing.

So, what do you guys think of Garry’s fight skills? Does he have what it takes to reach the top, or will he crash and burn in no time? Let us know in the comments!
