Who’s Leon Edwards’s next Dance Partner

Leon Edwards says he plans to defend his title at the UFC 300 and then make a summer comeback. What is this comeback gonna be? What’s so special about this comeback? Continue reading to find out!

The British welterweight champion announced that he will be back to defend his title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas during UFC 300 in April. Edwards stated he would be there, and UFC CEO Dana White described the kind of legendary top-to-bottom card worthy of the historic event number.

At the half of Aston Villa’s home victory over Burnley at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, the 32-year-old was given a tribute. Born in Jamaica, Edwards relocated to Birmingham at the age of nine. Two weeks following his UFC 296 unanimous decision victory over Colby Covington, Edwards received a personalized Aston Villa home kit shirt featuring the number one and the word “Champ” on the back.

At UFC 300, Edwards declared to the audience that he would compete in a title defense. Numerous names have been proposed as contenders. This past week, Nate Diaz threw his hat in the proverbial ring. Fans were calling for a Round 6 after he staged a late comeback after losing to Edwards in 2021. Islam Makhachev, the lightweight champion, would like to try his hand at holding two division titles, so a chance to make history at UFC 300 would be appropriate.

Belal Muhammad, however, is the most likely opponent. Muhammad had previously faced Edwards, but the bout ended in a no-contest after Muhammad was inadvertently poked in the eye in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 187 main event. Muhammad has been vying for a title shot based on merit for some time, but he had to wait out the results of Kamaru Usman’s rematch with Edwards and Covington’s title defense, which followed nearly two years of inactivity.

After defeating Covington, Edwards didn’t initially appear to be all that interested in fighting Muhammad. However, he seemed to be warming up to the idea, maybe because the matchup was inevitable.

Edwards has won 12 games in a row. In addition, he expressed to the Villa Park audience his desire to return to competition in Birmingham the following summer, making him one of the most successful UFC champions ever.

Will Edward be able to make this summer comeback giving a shock to all the UFC fans? What are your views on this? Do let us know in the comment section!
