In the main middleweight bout of the day, which will stream live on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex, Allen, riding a five-fight winning streak inside the octagon, will square off against Paul Craig. Though he is still on the verge of thirty, Allen recognizes his potential in the sport. He trains at Kill Cliff FC, an elite gym, and his skill level is improving quickly. The opportunity this weekend is just one more step in the process of grooming him to reach his ceiling.

Allen said during the UFC Fight Night 232 media day that he believes the organization recognizes he will eventually become a champion. He mentioned being 27 years old and having ample time ahead, indicating that they understand he is on a path towards becoming a champion, and they are taking the necessary steps to move in that direction.

The matchup between Craig and Allen seems like a dream match for a grappler. They have finished opponents with strikes on the mat and have a combined record of 11 submission wins inside the octagon.

During his media day appearance, Craig stated that he believes the fight will mostly be won by strikes, but that the final decision will likely be made on the mat. Allen had a similar perspective on the matchup.

Allen expressed his intention to secure a knockout victory, stating that he is unequivocally aiming for it. He considers knocking out his opponent as the preferred and simpler path. While anticipating his opponent to perform better than before, Allen conveyed confidence in his ground skills, asserting that he is unafraid to engage in ground battles with anyone, particularly in the 185-pound division, emphasizing his proficiency in the process.

Even though Allen is grateful for his circumstances, he stated that his happiness at UFC Fight Night 232 is entirely dependent on the result. His only goal is to succeed, and he is aware that this is a crucial time for him to maintain his momentum and take on bigger fights in his career.

To Allen, all of this means nothing if he doesn’t finish with a win on Saturday. Do you think Allen is gonna be able to accomplish his goal of ending with a win? Do let us know about your thoughts in the comment section!
