Nicolas Dalby Has Only Positive Energy

Nicolas Dalby discusses his acceptance of the threats made by Brazilian UFC fans and how he transforms them into uplifting energy. What were these threats like? Real or made up for media attention? Continue reading to find out what actually happened!

Despite their hatred for him, Dalby complimented the Brazilian fans for their energy and enthusiasm after winning a performance bonus over Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Fight Night 231.

Despite the lack of support before and during the match, Dalby explained why he decided to offer peace.

Dalby told reporters at a post-fight news conference that he had previously discussed the unique experience. He expressed how admired he felt by the crowd, especially their intense support for Brazilian fighters. He mentioned that some spectators were quite intense, even going as far as to taunt him with words like, “I’m going to kill you,” and other such provocative statements before his fights. Dalby indicated that instead of distracting him, this kind of energy served as motivation and did not diminish his focus. It motivated him to prove himself even more. He speculated that Brazilian crowds might stop doing it if he were to fight there in the future.

Maybe the moment also catalyzed the decision. Dalby’s impressive come-from-behind TKO earned him his first finish in 12 professional appearances. Dalby was proud of his performance, which might position him for a major matchup in the future.

He expressed his excitement, stating that he felt fantastic. It marked his first UFC finish, which he acknowledged might have happened earlier, but he was still extremely pleased with the fight. He agreed that it wasn’t ideal to take in the level of damage he did during the match, recognizing that there were lessons to be taken from that experience. He stressed that throughout his career, he had consistently learned from both personal and professional challenges, using them as opportunities for growth. Looking forward, he mentioned his desire to face a top 15 opponent, preferably in an event taking place in Copenhagen, where he would be the main event.

Do you feel that these statements are harsh enough to affect the match performance of a professional fighter? Was it just his incentive to gain media attention?Let us know about your thoughts in the comment section!
