Does Ngannou have a puncher’s chance against Tyson Fury?

Conor McGregor believes Francis Ngannou’ s strength will be an influence when he fights Tyson Fury. How accurate IS McGregor’s prediction of a “puncher’s chance”? Continue reading to find out!

On Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, there will be a crossover boxing bout between current WBC heavyweight champion Fury and former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou. Although McGregor is aware that Ngannou won’t have an easy time making a huge shot, he doesn’t discount the chance.

Conor McGregor said that, in his opinion, Francis Ngannou is more of a kickboxer/boxer than a mixed martial artist. McGregor noted that Ngannou has a striking-focused fighting style and lacks strong skills in grappling. McGregor also mentioned that this striking mentality could be an advantage for Ngannou in his upcoming bout with Tyson Fury. He acknowledged that it would be a difficult challenge for Ngannou but mentioned that any fighter can land a significant punch, and Fury is not immune to getting hit. McGregor expressed his excitement to see how the fight unfolded and praised Tyson Fury’s speed, agility, and elusiveness, suggesting that Fury might deliver a remarkable performance.

Numerous UFC luminaries and former champions have been silenced by Ngannou’ s influence. Mike Tyson will be supporting him, and McGregor, who plans to see the bout, believes Tyson’s approach could complement Ngannou.

Conor McGregor commented that Francis Ngannou possesses significant power along with a striker’s mentality. He mentioned that if the fight becomes more challenging in the later rounds, Ngannou’s striking mentality would likely endure compared to a mixed martial artist’s mindset. He also discussed the potential impact of having Mike Tyson in Ngannou’s corner, suggesting that Tyson’s style could pose a challenge for a long and rangy fighter like Tyson Fury.

McGregor speculated that Tyson Fury wouldn’t want to allow Ngannou to test his power. He wondered if Mike Tyson had shared any advice on how to get inside, change angles, and land a significant shot on the temple, which could make the bout more intriguing.
