The Most Anticipated UFC Fight Is Happening No More

Jon Jones due to his injury is no longer a part of the UFC 295 fight against Stipe Miocic; Sergei Pavlovich vs. Tom Aspinall interim title fight set. How did this incident happen? Continue reading to find out!

UFC CEO Dana White declared late Tuesday night that heavyweight champion Jon Jones would not be competing in his UFC 295 title match against all-time great Stipe Miocic due to a torn pectoral muscle he sustained while training. Jones will miss eight months of action. White posted a video of the incident on social media along with his announcement.

Miocic will not be at the event for undisclosed reasons because Jones is out. Top contenders Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall will therefore square off for the interim title in the co-main event on November 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The main event of UFC 295 will now feature a title match between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira, a vacant light heavyweight bout.

Coming into the battle, Pavlovich is on a six-bout winning streak. Pavlovich has won consecutive fights over Marcelo Golm, Maurice Greene, Shamil Abdurakhimov, Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa, and Curtis Blaydes since suffering a defeat to Alistair Overeem in his UFC debut. Six victories were in first-round knockouts.

When Aspinall defeated Marcin Tybura in 73 seconds this past July, he showed that he had recovered from a terrible 2022 knee injury. His winning percentage of 100% promotion was preserved by the victory.

The updated UFC 295 lineup features an electrifying array of matchups, promising an action-packed night of mixed martial arts. The main event now boasts a high-stakes battle between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka, as they vie for the vacant light heavyweight title, while Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall will face off in a showdown for the interim heavyweight title in the co-main event. The fight card includes several other compelling duels, such as Jessica Andrade taking on Mackenzie Dern, Diego Lopes squaring off against Pat Sabatini, and many more. With a diverse array of fighters and titles on the line, UFC 295 is shaping up to be a must-watch event for MMA enthusiasts.
