Fight With Jon Jones Is Worth More Than The UFC Belt To Ngannou

Looks like that shiny UFC belt isn’t every fighter’s dream. Ngannou’s desire for a fight with Jon Jones should be seen in two ways; either Ngannou is too full of himself and is challenging such a champion. On the other hand, this shows that he has a level of admiration for Jones, and a match with his role model is more than what he could need. Will his dream fight even happen? Continue reading to find out!

A possible bout between Ngannou and Jones was seriously hindered when he left the UFC and signed with the PFL earlier this year. The PFL would be fine with him battling heavyweight champion Jones in the octagon, according to Ngannou, even though the UFC isn’t keen on co-promotion.

On a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Ngannou said that going to the PFL might be possible now. Again saying that the PFL is up for that.

Rogan inquired about Ngannou’s future if he beats Jones and becomes UFC champion, but the former heavyweight champion clarified that fighting Jones isn’t about the belt.

Ngannou expressed that he might anticipate a special fight, potentially involving a unique championship or some other form of recognition, although not necessarily a UFC title. He emphasized that his primary concern lies with the fight itself and the challenge it presents, rather than the championship. He stated that he wouldn’t be bothered if the fight didn’t have a title on the line. He firmly believes that the significance of the fight transcends any title, and deep down, he retains a glimmer of hope, even though he acknowledges the difficulty of the task ahead, acknowledging that one can never be entirely certain about the outcome.

Ngannou debuts in a 10-round heavyweight match against Tyson Fury, while Jones defends his UFC 295 title against Stipe Miocic on November 11.

Do you think Francis Ngannou will be able to win this or even have a possibility to have a match with Jon Jones? Will Ngannou have to face embarrassment because of his decision? What do you think the future holds for both the fighters? Do let us know about your thoughts in the comment section!
