Would Conor McGregor Announce His Comeback Fight At UFC 300

Dana White calls Conor Mcgregor’s UFC announcement all internet bullshit. What was that announcement and why did the rumors even spread in the first place? Continue reading to find out!

Although McGregor has been the main source of rumors lately regarding his anticipated homecoming date, the promotion head claims that nothing is written in stone just yet. In June, at UFC 303, “The Notorious” announced that he would make his comeback to take on Michael Chandler during International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

The most recent teaser for McGregor was an Instagram picture of him sparring with a person decked out in a yellow Teletubby outfit, along with the words, “THE FIGHT IS ON! CHANDLER VS. MCGREGOR! I’ll see you on the selected day.

If McGregor could be the star of International Fight Week, reporters questioned White during the Power Slap 7 post-event news conference.

White stated that he had seen the post and expressed uncertainty regarding the meaning of the Teletubby. However, he indicated that it could potentially align with their goals and aspirations, conveying a sense of hopefulness.

The main event for the June event is still unknown, thus it seems like White and the promotion will let McGregor and Chandler headline the show.

After that, White was asked if viewers could anticipate any surprises from the UFC 300 show, which he interpreted as another nudge towards the announcement of a McGregor match.

White denied the existence of any surprises, stating that he was aware of the topic being discussed and dismissed it as internet rumours. He confidently asserted that there was no agreement in place for the Conor fight, refuting speculation and likening it to unfounded internet chatter.

In the final hours leading up to UFC 300, White did not convey a sense of urgency about putting ink to paper so that an announcement could be made during the event. But arguments may, and have, escalated rapidly in the past. For now, though, the UFC president advises supporters to ignore the “internet bullshit.”
