Max Holloway demands that the champion of the UFC 300 match up against Justin Gaethje be wrapped in the belt by “real life BMF” Mark Coleman.Why does Holloway want Coleman to wrap the champion belt?
Former UFC featherweight champion Holloway will defend the BMF crown against Justin Gaethje in a lightweight match at UFC 300 on April 13 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas .
In November 2019, the BMF title was introduced for the UFC 244 bout between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal. Masvidal emerged victorious via TKO in the fourth round, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wrapped the title around him. After Masvidal announced his retirement from UFC action earlier this year, the company brought back the championship for the August UFC 291 main event, which Gaethje won and Masvidal gave him the silver strap.
Now as the third battle for the BMF title is drawing near, Holloway proposes that UFC Hall of Famer Coleman award the crown to the winner of the bout. Coleman recently made a full recovery from a devastating house fire in which he saved his parents but lost his family dog Hammer.
Holloway stated that the most suitable candidate to present the BMF title at UFC 300 was Mark Coleman. He emphasized Coleman’s recent experience with his dog, which had awakened him to alert him of danger, leading Coleman to bravely confront the situation. Holloway described Coleman as a genuine BMF in real life and expressed that it would be an honour for Coleman to present the title.
