The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Bout Did Not Sit Well With Dana White

After the boxing battle between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, Dana White says he gets mad when White does this. Why did White get mad in the first place? What such thing could have happened in the fight? Continue reading to find out!

On July 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, Tyson will turn 58 when he enters the ring to take on 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-professional fighter Paul.

To avoid upsetting his close buddy Tyson, the UFC CEO refrained from speaking too much, but he does not want to see the boxing star compete at all.

White said during the UFC 299 post-fight news conference that he gets mad when he does that, but Mike is 60 years old. He expressed uncertainty about the situation and asked for opinions, stating that it wasn’t his fight and questioning the relevance of his opinion. White mentioned his friendship with Mike Tyson and his admiration for him as one of his favorite athletes. He stated that he doesn’t like to see fighters at that age and pointed out the significant age difference between them.

The fight will air live on Netflix for subscribers, something White appeared to be interested in. The streaming service, arguably the most well-known of its kind in the world, recently signed a deal with WWE to stream its long-running “Raw” weekly series, as well as other ancillary WWE programming, starting in 2025.

The WWE and UFC are paired together as TKO Group Holdings through primary owner Endeavor, which means building blocks already are in place if the UFC ever had a conversation with Netflix after its current broadcast deal with ESPN expires.

White expressed his opinion that Netflix should have entered the live sports arena years ago, acknowledging their late entry but recognizing their influence due to their widespread presence in households worldwide. He mentioned his enjoyment of the show “Reacher” and his general disinterest in television and movies, but emphasized his ability to watch “Reacher” at his convenience, attributing this flexibility to streaming services like Netflix. He emphasized the importance of live sports in the context of the expanding influence of major streaming companies.

Do you agree with giving such an opinion publicly about the fight? Do you think he made the correct judgments? Do let us know about your thoughts in the
