What Cost Dober His Fight Against Renato?

In the co-main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Dober was defeated by Moicano via unanimous decision.

Dober was winning on the feet, but he found it difficult to repel Moicano’ s grappling. Going into Round 3, each fighter had won a round. Dober attempted to counter a Moicano takedown but ended up on his back for the last two and a half minutes of the fight. Dober responded to the loss on Instagram.

Drew Dober expressed that the outcome was not as desired. He acknowledged making mistakes in a game of inches, acknowledging Renato Moicano as the superior fighter that night. He congratulated Moicano and his team, expressing no shame in giving his best and challenging himself against one of the best in the world.

Moicano showed respect to Dober in response to his post, expressing himself as a huge fan. He mentioned having previously acknowledged Dober’s dangerous capabilities in interviews. Additionally, he indicated a desire to see Dober face Paddy Pimblett in the next bout. Moicano conveyed his immense respect for Dober and thanked him for the fight.

Now, Dober, 35, has dropped two of his last three games. Before losing to Moicano, Dober defeated Ricky Glenn via first-round TKO in October of last year, earning him a Performance of the Night bonus.
