Nassourdine Imavov’s Feelings Towards Chris Curtis

Shutting down a UFC rematch, Nassourdine Imavov reveals what led to the fight with Chris Curtis. What would have led to the fight between the two fighters? Why did the UFC rematch shut down? Continue reading to find out!

Drama abounds in the main event of UFC Fight Night 235 on Saturday at the UFC Apex. Curtis, who was there to act as a cornerman, was outraged by a foul committed by Imavov on his opponent Roman Dolidze. The unpleasant vibes kept building.

Curtis was spotted giving his opponent, who had just defeated his partner, the finger after Imavov defeated Dolidze by a majority vote.

Imavov won the match despite the extracurricular diversions, but he wasn’t satisfied with it.

Imavov told reporters at a post-fight news conference that he always tries to be focused. He talked about how mostly he tries his best to stay calm in the octagon but sometimes he gets a bit wild. He talked about how he tried to stay as focused as he possibly could and how it was only possible due to his long fighting experience.

Curtis and Imavov squared off at UFC 289 in June. A collision of heads caused the fight to conclude in a no-contest, but it also marked the beginning of a rivalry.

Imavov expressed his dissatisfaction, stating, “He was upset because the guy, Chris Curtis, kept talking in every fight he was cornering. He mentioned that it was not Curtis’s job as a cornerman to talk to the fighters. Imavov recalled that when he entered the cage against Curtis, it was very silent. According to him, Curtis got dominated and eventually quit the fight due to a head butt. Imavov expressed his desire for Curtis to stop talking and let him fight.
He also acknowledged Roman as a real warrior, highlighting Roman’s perseverance in continuing to fight despite the option to stop. Imavov expressed respect for Roman’s resilience. He thanked Roman for his determination, in contrast to his criticism of Curtis, whom he referred to as a quitter.

After winning, Imavov attacked Curtis’s teammate, former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland, in an in-cage interview with Daniel Cormier.

Many people seemed to think that a rematch between Imavov and Curtis would be a good idea. Still, should Imavov get his way, those hoping for a grudge bout anytime soon will be disappointed.

Imavov conveyed his disinterest in Chris Curtis by pointing out that Curtis is low on the rankings. He asserted that he had conducted a masterclass against Curtis, dominating him in the cage where Curtis couldn’t make any significant moves. Despite the lack of interest, Imavov mentioned a willingness to engage in a tough sparring session if Curtis continues to talk. He stated that he could go to Curtis’s place or gym for the session, expressing confidence in his ability to destroy Curtis in the sparring session, much like he did in the cage.
