The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is getting closer to its next mixed martial arts (MMA) event, UFC 297: “Strickland vs. Du Plessis,” which is scheduled for this Saturday, January 20, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This will be the first PPV card of the promotion’s 2024 fight campaign.

The promotion is hosting a special UFC 297 media day, LIVE in the embedded video, starting promptly at 11 a.m. ET, to help fans (and media) get ready for the upcoming fight card. Among the participants are Sean Strickland, the current 185-pound champion, and No. 2 ranked title challenger Dricus Du Plessis.

The much-loved “Embedded” fight week video series is returning to the UFC for its first pay-per-view of 2024, capturing behind-the-scenes action.

On Saturday, UFC 297 will take place in Toronto’s Scotia Bank Arena. After early preliminary action on ESPN+ and preliminaries on ESPNews, the main card is televised on pay-per-view.

In the main event, challenger Dricus Du Plessis (20-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) will take on middleweight champion Sean Strickland (28-5 MMA, 15-5 UFC) in an attempt to make his first title defense. The top contenders for the vacant women’s bantamweight title, Mayra Bueno Silva (10-2-1 MMA, 5-2-1 UFC) and Raquel Pennington (15-8 MMA, 12-5 UFC), will square off in the co-main event.
