After four athletes failed to make their marks during the official weigh-ins for UFC Fight Night 231 on Friday, two of the bouts were canceled. In the end, three fighters failed to make weight, which caused the UFC to announce two cancellations.

At lightweight, Vinc Pichel was scheduled to open the main card against Ismael Bonfim. Bonfim didn’t try to lose weight after weighing in at 159.5 pounds. Pichel failed at 157 on his first try as well, but he took advantage of his extra hour to become official at 155.5. But after that, the fight was abandoned.

Before his brother, Gabriel Bonfim, a welterweight who faces Nicolas Dalby in the co-main event, Bonfim, a native of Brazil, was scheduled to compete in a few fights. Dalby and Bonfim both added weight.

Victor Hugo of Brazil was scheduled to face Daniel Marcos in the preliminary bout, less than three weeks before his UFC debut. Hugo weighed 138.5 pounds, compared to Marcos’ 136 pounds. He made no effort to lose further weight, and following the weigh-ins, the bantamweight match was canceled.
