UFC Isn’t Happy For Francis Ngannou’s Boxing Success?

Daniel Cormier questions whether the UFC is insulted by Francis Ngannou’ s strong performance against Tyson Fury. What do you feel could be the reason about such a claim being made by Cornier? Continue reading to find out!

This past Saturday in Saudi Arabia, Ngannou forced WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to a split decision. Ngannou outperformed everyone, even taking down the unbeaten Fury in the third round.

Ngannou’ s success followed his early-year split from the UFC, during which he retained the heavyweight championship. A new contract couldn’t be agreed upon by the parties because of Ngannou’ S desire to seek boxing chances. Ngannou signed with the PFL after quitting the UFC, giving him contractual flexibility to box.

Ngannou’ s switch to the PFL was attacked by UFC CEO Dana White earlier this year, but Cormier believes the former heavyweight champion’s successful boxing debut helps all in MMA, including the UFC.

Daniel Cormier mentioned on a show that Junior dos Santos, Izzy (Adesanya), Kamaru (Usman), Chuck Liddell, and Randy Couture, among other great mixed martial artists, were in attendance the previous weekend to witness Francis Ngannou’ s unprecedented and unexpected performance. He stated that there was an idea circulating that the UFC might be upset about Francis Ngannou’ s actions. However, he questioned why they would be upset when Francis Ngannou had uplifted the entire sport with his recent performance. Cormier pointed out that Francis Ngannou had fought the lineal heavyweight champion of the world and lost by split decision, making him a mixed martial arts world champion.

Cormier gave Fury a 95-94 victory, however he clarified his comments when he indicated that Fury had not won the bout.

Cormier declared, Tyson Fury did not win a fight, even though he won the ‘boxing match’ because he won the ‘boxing match. “The bout against Francis Ngannou was not won by him. That went to Francis. Both the scorecards and the “boxing match” went to him. Tyson Fury was the one who lost the night in the end. Francis prevailed.

Do you agree with Cormier’s opinion? If yes, then why?Do let us know about your thoughts in the comment section!
