No More Flag Bans At UFC?

Looks like Dana White’s top priority now is his fighters rather than their flags. White forgot about professionalism and became pretty clear with his words that he won’t pay any attention to the fans calling out UFC fighters for bringing their flags into the octagon.

Has White made a wise decision lifting this flag ban or is this going to put UFC at a big risk? Continue reading to find out!

Joe Pyfer’s defiance of the American flag after submitting Abdul Razak Alhassan in the second round at the UFC Apex was very notable since the organization forbade fighters from carrying flags on broadcasts in the wake of the continuing Russia-Ukraine war.
At the post-fight news conference, White was questioned about the circumstances. He responded that the recent Noche UFC event served as a turning point for him to disregard the regulation.

White stated that flags were back. He mentioned that he had been on vacation during the Mexican Independence Day, and the absence of flags had bothered him greatly. In response, he decided to bring flags back, stating, “Yeah, forget that. We’re bringing flags back.” The absence of flags during that time had driven him crazy.

White claimed that at first, he didn’t see the flag ban as a significant problem and wasn’t vehemently opposed to it. He grew to despise what was happening as time went on, but the fighters are now free to represent their various nations.

White stated that in a company of this size, many things happen, and it’s impossible to micromanage every detail. He mentioned that sometimes actions are taken with good intentions. He also expressed his personal perspective on various matters by saying he I doesn’t care in response to most things.

According to him, people tend to be overly sensitive and soft about various issues. He explained that initially, he didn’t see a big problem with not having flags, but his perspective changed when Mexican Independence Day came around. At that point, he decided to reintroduce flags, and he conveyed the message that if anyone is offended by the presence of flags, they should deal with it.

Do you think he made the right decision to take a stand for his fighters or did he put his own industry in danger? Do let us know what you think in the comment section!
