Following his victory at Polaris 25 Aljamain Sterling left a message to Sean O’Malley begging to match him against Merab Davalishvili or to give a UFC title rematch. Sterling isn’t gonna let him avoid the front-runners anymore.

At UFC 292 on August 19, O’Malley defeated Sterling in the second round of their main event bagging the 135-pound title. After that, O’Malley focused on facing Vera again who had delivered “Suga” his lone defeat in his professional career three years prior.
It is still unknown what O’Malley will do for his first championship defense, although Vera is ranked No. 6 in the official UFC bantamweight rankings, behind Sterling and Merab Davalishvili, Vera’s teammate. Given that, Sterling is certain of O’Malley’s best course of action, revealing that after defeating Mike Grundy in a striking match on Saturday at Polaris 25.
Sterling said that he had a message for Mr. ‘Sugar Tits’ and mentioned that he still considered him as such. He called out O’Malley asking him to please give him his rematch or consider fighting Merab. It’s a straightforward request. Please stop avoiding the top contenders and show your character as a true champion by facing the best opponents. That’s precisely what I did, and now it’s your turn to do the same.
After defeating former champion Petr Yan in a clear-cut unanimous decision this past March, Dvalishvili is now on a nine-fight winning streak. Vera, meantime, recently defeated Pedro Munhoz by a majority decision at UFC 292, putting “Chito” back on track following a defeat to rival Cory Sandhagen in March.
Sterling was surely not messing around with his request to Sean. And considering the anger he had and how it showed throw his words it’s pretty clear that he’s backing down from it anytime soon.
