Tom Aspinall Responds to Michael Bisping’s Comments About Him Beating Jon Jones

Tom Aspinall thinks Michael Bisping is “bigging him up” about beating Jon Jones. Ultimately, he thinks he can indeed beat him if he wants to.

Continue reading to find out what Bisping said and how true his comments could be!

Bisping confidently asserted that Aspinall’s recent victory over Marcin Tybura in UFC Fight Night 224 demonstrated his prowess. He went on to express his belief that Aspinall could replicate his success against Jon Jones, the reigning UFC heavyweight champion. Bisping described Jones as an exceptional fighter and acknowledged his status as one of the sport’s legends. Despite this, Bisping suggested that Aspinall’s skills were on another level and implied that he could handle Jones similarly to how he dealt with Tybura. Bisping’s confidence in Aspinall’s abilities appeared unwavering as he expressed doubt that anyone could halt Aspinall’s progress in the octagon.

Given that former UFC light heavyweight title and current heavyweight champ Jones has been invincible in the octagon (apart from a dubious disqualification), it’s a significant statement from the United Kingdom’s first UFC champion.
Aspinall responded to Bisping’s enthusiastic endorsement by acknowledging his belief in his own ability to defeat Jon Jones. Speaking during an interview with Sky Sports, Aspinall recognized the praise from Bisping and even anticipated potential criticism. He expressed his confidence in his capability to emerge victorious against Jones, highlighting his belief that he could triumph over any opponent.

Aspinall, however, acknowledged the monumental stature of Jon Jones within the sport, referring to him as one of the all-time greats. While he didn’t dismiss the possibility of a decisive victory, Aspinall admitted uncertainty regarding the ease of such an outcome. He maintained his self-assuredness in his skills as a highly proficient heavyweight fighter and implied that he operates at a level beyond his contemporaries. Aspinall emphasized his unique approach and techniques, suggesting that his strategies transcend the norm for heavyweights, a claim he made with an air of conviction.

So, who are you rooting for if a bout between Aspinall and Jones happens? Let us know in the comments!
