Paddy Pimblett Chooses Discipline During His Healing Phase

We all know how much Paddy Pimblett loves to eat when he isn’t preparing to fight. At one point, the “Baddy” admitted to eating microwaved cookie sandwiches during Covid. But now, fans will see a more disciplined man while he is out of the octagon.

So, continue reading why Pimblett chooses a healthy lifestyle in his off-time rather than enjoying his favorite cheeseburgers and cookies.

Pimblett (20-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC) is currently recovering from ankle surgery and will be out for several months. When he’s not in fight camp, “The Baddy” is infamous for inflating up – but not lately. This is due to the rising lightweight’s purposeful attempt to maintain his weight as he tries to climb the rankings upon his comeback.

Pimblett expressed his aspirations of securing three more victories and achieving a ranking by the end of the next year. He acknowledged that his current physique, which is relatively lean, has sparked speculation about his upcoming fights. However, he clarified that he does not have any fights scheduled and explained that he faces challenges with eating disorders while preparing for fights and during the post-fight period. Pimblett mentioned that his recent surgery has contributed to his weight reduction, and he is currently maintaining a weight of around 185 pounds without strict dietary restrictions. He expressed contentment with his current weight, emphasizing his desire to avoid surpassing 200 pounds in the future.

Pimblett has faced significant criticism regarding his diet, but he intends to implement changes in the future. Pimblett appeared unfazed by the criticism, asserting his indifference towards the opinions of others.

Pimblett emphasized that he takes on the risks involved in stepping into the cage and believes that outsiders do not fully comprehend the challenges fighters face when it comes to weight cutting. He mentioned his intention to actively maintain a lower weight going forward, highlighting that he has never made a deliberate effort to do so in the past.
Pimblett acknowledged his tendency to gain significant weight and consume around 8,000 calories per day after each fight. However, he indicated his inclination to avoid repeating such conduct moving forward.

Pimblett found it perplexing that people continuously inquired about his opponents and desired matchups for his return. He clarified that he would not be making a comeback for approximately six months, emphasizing the significant transformations that can occur within the fighting landscape during that time period.

Pimblett expressed his desire to compete before the year concludes but emphasized that he does not intend to rush his comeback. He mentioned having various commitments outside of fighting, including scheduled vacations, business matters, and his upcoming wedding. Pimblett clarified that if he remains free from injury, he plans to participate in a fight by the end of the year. However, he emphasized that he will not enter another fight unless he is fully prepared and in optimal health, as he cannot afford to compromise his physical condition anymore.

So, will Pimblett follow through with his new-found discipline or bounce back to his unhealthy eating habits? Comment below what you think!
