Michael Chandler Is A Fan Of Alexander Volkanovski After UFC 290

Michael Chandler had many good things to say about Alexander Volkanovski after his performance at UFC 290. Continue reading to discover exactly what impressed Chandler enough to react so enthusiastically to Volk’s fight skills!

Volkanovski unified his featherweight championship with a third-round TKO of interim champ Yair Rodriguez in Saturday’s main event at Las Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena.
Volkanovski is undefeated at 145 pounds and has successfully defended his title five times. Volkanovski’s only loss in the UFC came against lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in February when he pushed him to the limit in a close decision loss. Chandler, a former championship contender, believes Volkanovski is the most well-rounded fighter in the arena right now.

Chandler, on his YouTube channel, stated that he believes Alexander Volkanovski is the most unbeatable individual globally. So, he is not only an unbeatable champion. According to him, there is a specific reason why Volkanovski holds the pound-for-pound No. 1 position.

Chandler further explained his perspective by emphasizing three Cs: completeness, cardio, and composure. He claimed that Volkanovski is the most complete fighter in the UFC roster and worldwide, highlighting his well-rounded skill set. Chandler noted that Volkanovski possesses the skill to anticipate his opponents’ moves and maintain a dominant position throughout the fight. He highlighted Volkanovski’s ability to excel in various aspects of combat, such as managing distance, striking, and utilizing a wide range of striking techniques.

Chandler described Volkanovski’s approach as basic but effective, as he chooses not to venture beyond his comfort zone, even with his numerous title defenses.

Furthermore, Volkanovski currently has choices. At featherweight, unbeaten rising star Ilia Topuria awaits, and a fight with Makhachev at UFC 294 on Oct. 21 is also feasible. Accordingly, Chandler believes Volkanovski will cause issues for both featherweights and lightweights based on his observations.

Chandler claimed that no featherweight is capable of resisting Volkanovski’s takedowns. He also mentioned that based on Volkanovski’s ability to take down Islam Makhachev in their closely fought match, it appears that there may not be a lightweight worldwide who can prevent Volkanovski from executing takedowns. Chandler expressed his belief that Volkanovski desires a fight against Makhachev and, in his honest opinion, Volkanovski might be the individual who receives a title shot.

So, what do you think of Volk’s performances in the arena? Is he as good as Chandler says? Let us know if you agree with Chandler or not on this!
