Cordeiro, the creator of Kings MMA, guided Fabricio Werdum to the UFC heavyweight championship. Therefore, he feels “Vai Cavalo” is the best guy to face PFL newbie Ngannou in his debut with the organization. Werdum entered the PFL in 2021 and has appeared in one game thus far.
Cordeiro expressed his support for a potential fight between Fabricio Werdum and Ngannou. He mentioned that ex-UFC champion Werdum would bring significant value to the organization. Moreover, Cordeiro emphasized that such fights are essential for PFL. This indicates his belief that hosting such high-profile matchups would benefit the promotion.
Werdum made his PFL debut in May 2021 against Renan Ferreira. The bout was contentious because Werdum looked to tap Ferreira with a triangle choke in the opening round. However, the referee missed the signal. When Werdum removed the hold, Ferreira resumed punching and knocked Werdum out shortly. Once the New Jersey State Control Board evaluated the film, the bout was declared a no-contest. Werdum hasn’t competed again and has considered retiring. But, he has recently released footage of himself working out on social media, appearing battle ready. He even called out Ngannou to a fight. He said, “You have a lot of holes in your game.”
Ngannou is much younger than Werdum and is recognized for his mighty knockout power. After recruiting the ex-UFC champion to a generous agreement that permits him to compete in pro boxing matches, the organization has yet to declare his first opponent.
Despite the age gap, Cordeiro feels Werdum, who has a different skill set than Ngannou, may provide an intense fight in the PFL.
According to Cordeiro, Fabricio Werdum would be a good opponent for Francis Ngannou in a fight. He seemed confident in Werdum’s fighting abilities. Additionally, he implied if someone had to be picked for the fight, Werdum would be the ideal choice to show that he is still a formidable force in the sport. Cordeiro commended Werdum’s present condition and technique. He also emphasized that despite being 45 years old, Werdum has the physical shape and talents to make the fight against Ngannou a high-scoring affair.
